Mini-bar in wooden pallets
The wooden pallets are simple, pretty, inexpensive or free and easy to find! Plus, who does not like having a bottle of red to wear? I propose you a project of mini-bar to beautify your dining room or your corner terrace.Equipment:
Wooden pallet
Saw (I used a round saw but a jigsaw does the job well)
Instant coffee
Brush
Drill
Hammer and 3 inch nails
Procedure:
1- Cut the pallet (2 boards of width) from the bottom, this way you will have 2 boards in the back and 1 board in front.
2- Unclip a board from your remaining pallet, you will use it to make the "floor" of your bottle rack. This step can be complex since most pallets are well designed, be patient and pay attention!
3- When you have succeeded, fix the board under the bottle holder. The wood is often very massive, so I advise you to use a drill to "pre-drill" the holes in which you will nail the board.
4- Cut the other end of the pallet to have 1 board forward and 1 back. This piece will serve you as a tablet and glass stand.
5- Using your saw, cut about 1 "along the length of the bottom board.
6- If you want to add a more worn finish to your mini bar, I advise you to maganer a little wood. A few hammers here and there, you can even hit with a big chain. Be careful not to break your boards!
7- To darken the wood naturally, prepare an instant coffee (the darker, the better). Let cool. With the brush, apply the coffee on the wood. Three layers should suffice.
Add some good bottles and your favorite glasses and you're done!
